Derin Demirsoy

Naam: Derin Demirsoy

Alongside Efe Siyahi and Omer Karaevli, Derin Demirsoy competes with our horses at the highest level of the sport. The aim is that Derin will strengthen our team and by collaborating closely with two likeminded top riders of Turkish descent also form a solid base for the Turkish national team.

Derin was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. After winning a silver medal at the European Championship for Junior riders in 2011, Derin moved to the Netherlands to combine showjumping with a study for a degree in business management with a major in finance. Equestrian legends that have helped shape Derin’s career are Bert Romp, Jos Lansink and Henk Nooren. For the past couple of years Derin has been training with Vincent Voorn.

Successes that Derin has achieved are amongst others winning the CSI4* FEI World Cup of Doha in 2016, the CSIO3* Grand Prix of Drammen in 2017, as well as the CSI3* Grand Prix of Arezzo in 2018. Derin has been selected to represent Turkey in several Nations Cups alongside Efe and Omer and he is also a graduate of the prestigious Young Riders Academy (2016).
